A Sugar and Poi signature, this Poi Tres Leches Cake reimagines the classic dessert through a distinctly Hawaiʻi lens. A tender poi cake is delicately soaked in coconut tres leches, then layered with a subtle ring of kulolo caramel that highlights the earthy depth of kalo. A silky haupia cream adds balanced coconut richness, while cinnamon pastry cream introduces warmth and complexity. Each bite is finished with a crisp white chocolate macadamia nut feuilletine, offering a refined crunch that completes the experience.
Design Concept
Inspired by Designer Luna Curtois, co-founder alongside Indie Pyzel for Benoa swim, this design is an adaptation of their popular hibiscus swimsuit pattern. Inspired by the 90’s Hawai’i surf aesthetic, Sugar and Poi’s interpretation evokes a vintage island feel that is meant to be the iconic centerpiece of any celebration.
